"This conduct would make Lincoln roll over in his grave."

Illinois superdelegate Pat QuinnImage by Rocky Mountain News Photos via FlickrThose words, spoken today by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald about the conduct of Blagojevich, were never more true than they are today.  Most of the people in Illinois had no illusions that this day would come.  Most Democrats hoped the day would have came sooner.  I remember back in 2006, saying that people should "vote for Blago in '06 for Quinn in '08."

Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn, once this mess is settled, will be a great Governor for the people of Illinois.  Quinn is what most of us wish our politicians were like, honest, down-to-earth, smart, and willing to fight for the right choice, not the easy choice.  Pat Quinn is all about policy and not about the game playing.

Pat Quinn has worked hard to protect the environment, to defend worker's rights, and to bring transparency to government.

I hope Quinn is the one who gets to name Obama's successor.  I am pulling for U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky or U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. to get the nod.
